When someone has died the deceased’s assets must be distributed between the persons who have a right to the deceased’s estate. The distribution of the estate is normally set out in a written document. Many complicated issues can arise in connection with distribution of the estate, e.g. how a will is to be interpreted or whether or not a gift someone received when the deceased was still alive is to be included in the estate. It is a good idea to consult a lawyer ahead of distribution of the estate in order to gain information on the nature of distribution of the estate and on your legal rights.
